I have been keeping a project journal to record any notes from my supervisor meetings with John Edmonds. I aimed to have a meeting with supervisor every two weeks to discuss my project, any feedback and any concerns I may have.  29th October: Meeting 1 This was my first supervisor meeting where I discuss the idea and concept for my project. My supervisor said to focus on the  target audience, I could potentially go to an event and find out why my target audience they are there. Also, could do a survey, ask uni of Leeds computer science how many girls are on the course. Target women who are attend the free workshops and events, why do they want to learn code? Following on from last week's blog, the app will have an app navigation bar at the bottom of each page so the users are able to easily navigate through the application. A home Icon so users can always return back to the home page. The learn icon leads users to tips and articles about coding and the discuss icon leads to the forum where users can comment and take part in the community. Events are for searching and filtering upcoming events in your area. Notifications are for users to receive daily coding reminders and alerts. There is a settings icon in the top right corner to adjust any preferences and accessibility features. Also, there is the profile icon in the top left corner of the page to access your profile to be able to track coding progress. The name for my project is "Codability" which connects the two words "Code" and "Capability" to create the meaning of what the app is about, it gives users the power and ability to learn code. I used the Morphological Matrix to create the logo/app icon for the project.  It can be useful:  - To produce different and new combinations selecting the best ones in a systematic way.  - More inclined to test different ideas and possibilities.  - To make sure you are achieving your purpose and thinking about how these elements can work together best to fit the fitness for purpose and clearly communicate to your audience your design.  - It gets you to think about multiple combinations and not the first one you select. Women in Tech is a site dedicated to women already in or looking to join the tech sector. The site will provide you with career advice, case studies, jobs and a list of employers hiring women in tech. Women in tech have connected me with a mentor to help with advice and guidance for my project. Women in tech have also provided me with resources and survey results relating to my project. I have been allocated a mentor who is experienced and knowledgeable, who is able to provide me with feedback and share what they know. I contacted Women in Tech about my final year project in October and Sarah Wood the Digital Marketing Executive replied. She helped point me to a survey and case studies and advised me to sign up for the mentoring scheme.
